Supply terms and data licensing
Datadaptive supplies data products under two standard sets of terms. Both allow you to make indefinite use of the data supplied by Datadaptive under a worldwide, royalty-free, perpetual, non-exclusive licence, subject only to a few conditions such as attribution of the sources of the data.
You will be free to:
- copy, distribute, transmit, analyse, and adapt the data,
- display, publish, and share the data, including on the public web,
- exploit the data commercially or non-commercially,
- include the data in your own product or application, and
- sub-license the data to your contractors, partners, customers, and users.
The notice for supply of open data work products applies to datasets that we have produced by combining or deriving data from two or more third-party openly licensed datasets, and in which Datadaptive has not created any new intellectual property. These terms specify a one-off fee for preparation and supply of the data only. Your use of the data is based on the licensing terms granted by the third-party sources. These will either be the Open Government Licence or a similar perpetual licence that complies with the Open Definition.
The notice for supply of added value open licensed data products applies to datasets that we have produced by combining data from one or more openly licensing third-party datasets with outputs from our own data gathering or analysis. These terms also specify a one-off fee for preparation and supply of the data. The third-party datasets are used by Datadaptive in accordance with the relevant open data licences, and we license the Datadaptive datasets (including any incorporated third-party data) to you in perpetuity on the terms of the Creative Commons Attribution License 4.0.
